Chick Flicks

Anjela's in the bedroom watching The Mirror Has Two Faces. I've gone back into the room to talk to her, etc., but I find I can't bear to stay in the room with that movie playing. It actually makes my brain hurt. Not since Pride and Prejudice have I seen something more agonizing to watch.

I think I'll have to watch Goodfellas to expel the taint on my soul...

I agree.

Before Kim and I saw A Mighty Wind today, I turned to her after nearly every preview for the romantic-comedy-du-jour, and said, "No fucking way."

My all-time awful movie: The Joy Luck Club. It took weeks to re-establish my manhood after being forced to sit through that. Running a close second is Mystic Pizza.

Question: are we going for all-time awful in general? Or all-time awful chick flick?

The former for me is a tie between Leaving Las Vegas, City of Angels, and Moulin Rouge. The latter is a tie between Someone Like You and Life or Something Like It.

Oh, and I'm avoiding Divine Secrets of the Ya-Ya Sisterhood like it was the mutant spawn of Ebola and SARS.

I detest all of your selections.

We should get together and not go to a movie sometime.

I love all three of you guys. I just want to state in my defense that I only watch Jane Austen movies if I think there's some chance of seeing Ewan McGregor's penis or Kate Winslet's breasts in them, and only then when Grant is out of the house.

Wait, what Jane Austen movie had The Wang in it??

None of them, but Ewan was in "Emma" and thus I thought there was a risk of wanging.

...I wonder what Emma (aka [livejournal.com profile] emmagrant01 would think of the phrase "Ewan was in Emma")
