Cleanliness

fishsupremeAnjela and I have different ideas as to what constitutes cleanliness. I'm annoyed by clutter... my idea of clean is to have everything put away. If something is on the floor that isn't furniture, then the room isn't clean. However, it would never occur to me to, say, dust those nice, clutter-free surfaces, and vacuuming would only happen with actual, visible debris on the carpet.
Anjela isn't bothered by stuff everywhere, but she hates dirt. She wants surfaces cleaned, floors mopped, carpets vacuumed, etc.
Our differing ideas here result in dialogs like this one:
Anjela (looking at my sink): You know, you're allowed to say "Honey, my sink is filthy, would you clean that out for me?"
Me: My sink is filthy?
Anjela: Aah, now that would be the problem.
Me (looking at my sink): It's not filthy! There's not one rat!
Of course, between the two of us, we can take care of most anything in the house just by division of labor.
