...Restaurant service, at every single restaurant in New Zealand that we encountered, is amazingly, hilariously slow....and things like drink refills or being asked if you need anything are absolutely nonexistent (never happened to us the whole time.) I wonder if this is just a cultural difference, or directly related to the fact that there is no tipping...
I wonder what the result would have been if, at every restaurant you patronized, upon receiving the menus, you said, "I'll give you an additional 15% of whatever the check is if you make sure to attend to us promptly." (or something to that effect)? The reactions would be interesting to watch, I think...smile...
